La parole des os / Bone-speak

English Translation

Bone-speak
spreads.

Nothing to hold it back.

Our words-in-mouth are destroyed.

The words of bones
go softly off to darkness:
the wolf’s burial, the slowworm’s sloughed-off tails, humus.

In the communal ash
they celebrate desecration, taking oblique delight.

Then, our skeletons formed anew, they come
toward the living, for what enigmatic announcement?

Did their repeated defeat of the nights
overstep
negativity’s limits, in a flowering of dawn?
