March

A stupa of pear blossoms covers a sheep’s naked body.

Lighter leaves between leaves:
A newly-hatched spider lengthens its silk in the wind.

Soon its first web, its translucent insects.

I’ve been looking for three ways
to say a sentence. To make the white ribbon stand

when the eye is a drop of resin —
pilgrims with the hearts of planets are perpetually falling.
