Xue Rou: Flesh and Blood

To the living
indecipherable
sun body’s rosetta:
Your flesh of words,
blood road, xue rou.
Open this inner arm
standing on sage bone hills.
Our bodies are old libraries
more than we’re willing to see.
Our bodies lock rooms of books,
hooks and nails and the unsmooth.
Light is your light settling of body.
My skin is your skin’s seamless garment
in a house long enough: It is your flesh,
lightens water stains on the ceiling. Sleep
in the winter rains, bleach on a cotton ball
lightens water stains on the ceiling. Sleep
in a house long enough: It is your flesh.
My skin is your skin’s seamless garment.
Light is your light settling of body,
hooks and nails and the unsmooth.
Our bodies lock rooms of books
more than we’re willing to see.
Our bodies are old libraries
standing on sage bone hills.
Open this inner arm,
blood road, xue rou
your flesh of words,
sun body’s rosetta
indecipherable
to the living.
